Chairman
Brian is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Monter Capital Partnership. He is also founder and Director of other institutions including Longhorn Capital Limited, a private investments firm, and Longhorn Associates Limited, an Asset Management registered in Zambia. He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration - Finance from the Binary University of Malaysia and holds an MBA from the Management College of Southern Africa.
Chairperson of the Finance and Audit Committee
Professor Dan Kuwali practices law under his law firm KD Freeman & Associates where he is the Senior Partner. He is an Extraordinary Professor of International Law at the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria and Distinguished Professor of International Law and International Relations, University of Lilongwe. He has served as a Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and in several regional and international governance roles.
Chief Executive Officer
Douglas is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi. He holds an MBA from the University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Malawi and brings three decades of leadership and business experience across banking, leasing, finance and audit.
Board Member
Sera is an agri-business specialist with a PhD in Development Finance from Aberystwyth University, an MBA from Charles Stuart University, and a Bachelor and Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Malawi. She is the Chairperson of the Credit Risk Management Committee.
Rachel Jiyana is the Founder and Managing Director of Rachel Jiyana Incorporated, a legal expert specializing in project finance, banking and finance, oil and gas, infrastructure, and mining law, holding an LLM in Project Finance (Oil & Gas) from the University of Reading (UK), and leading the Finance and Audit Committee to ensure strong financial governance.
Operations
Chief Financial Officer
Salome Chavula-Kayira joined Pinnacle in March 2025 and is a seasoned finance professional with 21 years of experience in financial management and reporting, risk management, budgeting, auditing, microfinance, grant management and compliance. She is a FCCA and a Certified Accountant under ICAM.
Chief Risk Officer
Zagwa joined Pinnacle Financial Services in March 2020, bringing 17 years of experience in the microfinance industry. He has progressed through customer service, collections, operations and risk management leadership roles and holds degrees and diplomas in business administration and management.
Head of Distribution Channels and Marketing
Monase Chinamale is a seasoned financial services executive with over 16 years of experience in banking and microfinance, specializing in distribution strategy, sales leadership and market expansion. She currently leads distribution channels and marketing and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship.
Credit Manager
Ethel Nthara possesses 18 years of experience in banking services, credit analysis, risk management, customer relationship management and sales and marketing. She has worked with Standard Bank of Malawi and NBS Bank before joining Pinnacle.
SME Manager North and Central Region
William brings skills in customer engagement, people management and relationship building. He spent 13 years with NBS Bank Plc in SME and branch operations roles and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship together with an Advanced Diploma in Banking.
Head of Enterprise Lending and Partnerships
Chiwmemwe Mtima-Jere is a seasoned banking professional with over 22 years of experience across corporate, SME and personal banking, together with leasing, treasury, product marketing, operations, strategic planning and corporate governance. He holds an Executive MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration among other qualifications.
Data and Technology Analyst
Trevor Kabambe is a dynamic and results-driven Data and Technology Analyst with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from Swansea University, a Master’s degree in Business Management, and a Google Data Analytics certification. He brings a global perspective from experience in Namibia and the United Kingdom.
Governance & Customer Experience Manager
Nita Kanjaye has a broad background in finance, administration and sales analysis. Her career includes work at Airtel and strong leadership in product distribution, financial management and operational efficiency. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and an ICAM certificate.
Finance Manager
Stanley Ching'amba is a Finance Manager with over seven years of experience in financial services, specializing in treasury management, financial reporting, budgeting, financial modelling, and business performance analysis. He is passionate about leveraging finance to support strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth
